Volkswagen Caddy Bluemotion, the van of 4.5 l/100 km
The Frankfurt Motor Show will host the presentation of great news bombastic, from luxury cars to prototypes of stroke. However, it will be the presentation of more modest and mundane cars but at the end of the day, are the ones most customers will buy in the future. Such is the case of the Volkswagen Caddy Bluemotion, a new version for the small van of the German mark, which is eight years in the European market.
As occurs in other models of Volkswagen Bluemotion label used to describe a more efficient version and saving of few populate the model range. So far there was available a Caddy Bluemotion diesel and other fuel but the firm engineers have managed to reduce the consumption of the Bluemotion diesel in a remarkable way.
The engine is the same as the previous version, ie a 1.6 TDI with 102 hp power and 250 Nm of torque, but the average consumption has been lowered from 5.1 to 4.5 l/100 km.
This significant reduction in consumption due to the use of fuel saving techniques in vogue in recent times, as is the height reduction in 27 mm, the introduction of start-stop device or the use of tires with low rolling resistance. Emissions of CO 2 from 134 to 117 g / km these figures are valid for van variant, as passenger version recorded figures of 4.6 l/100 km and 119 g / km respectively.
In the aesthetic, outwardly differs from other versions by the use of new hubcaps (or tires if optionally choose them) and the presence of logos identifying Bluemotion. The interior includes a redesigned upholstery and ventilation outlets gloss. It will have very full equipment as standard will have elements like hill descent assistant or speed control.
Although this new version will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen is now taking orders in Germany for the new Caddy Bluemotion, which will be offered both as combi van version or passenger version. Prices in Germany start at 17,720 euros for the van version and 21,759 euros for the passenger version. Presumably, in Spain the prices will be slightly higher.
